Leave the car and try a cargo bike!
As part of Northumberland County Council’s The Big Northumberland Gear Change, Berwick has been chosen to pilot cargo bike training in Northumberland.
The training is offered for free and the Council has commissioned Cycling4Everyone to deliver the training, which is a first for the North East. Once the training is complete the cargo bikes can be borrowed to assess practical use.
The training is principally aimed at Berwick traders however individuals can be considered depending on their aspirations, i.e. perhaps taking children to school or going to work...
The training will be delivered starting from either the Berwick Highways depot or the Active Northumberland sports centre in October and there spaces are available.
The training is currently offered on Mondays and Wednesdays for two hours morning or afternoon session... with more training offered if required.
